Event Description:
During a typical election year, the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce would host the Candidate Forum, which is not a debate but rather a civil informational session for voters leading up to Election Day. Last year, we heard from balloted, opposed candidates representing the Town and/or County at the state and local levels. This year, however, there are only 4 balloted candidates running for 4 spots on the Town Council. As such, we will host the "Candidate Meet & Greet" on October 17th from 5:30PM to 7:00PM at Liberty Middle School.
Doors open at 5:00PM. This event will be moderated by Tim Saunders, Business Engagement & Community Outreach Coordinator for the Central VA Workforce Development Board.
Community members are encouraged to submit questions for the candidates prior to the event. An online form is available HERE. Voters are also welcome to mail questions for submission to the Bedford Chamber office at 305 E. Main Street, Bedford, VA 24523. All questions must be received at least a week prior, on October 10. We will not accept questions on-site.
This event is free and open to the public.
